Trancoso holds houses of every size, from two-bedroom bungalows near the Quadrado to beachfront estates in Itapororoca. Trc002 occupies a different tier altogether. It has 2,000 m² of built area inside the VillaVista Golf community, within the Terravista complex, with nine suites, two further double rooms and capacity for 22 guests. Seen from above, the house reads as a cluster of low roofs slotted between the Atlantic Forest and the fairway.
The arrival, and what came by ship
Entry is through solid carved timber doors set into the red façade that sets the tone for the house. Past the threshold, four monumental stainless steel structures wrap the staircases leading to the main suites. The finish was given a distinct brushing, and the pattern drawn across the metal recalls flames.
None of these pieces were made in Trancoso. All of them arrived by cargo ship, and each one needed a crane to be lifted into position. Together with the full furnishing of the house, the operation took fifteen containers.
Four hundred square metres of pool
The outdoor area is organised around a 400 m² infinity pool that runs from one end of the house to the other and stretches visually toward the fairway. Built into it, the Aqua Bar sits under a thatched roof, with stools standing in the water.
Before the pool, a glass walkway crosses the water feature in the entrance area. Walking over the surface is the first sign that the architecture here was built to provoke a reaction.
Nine suites, and two rooms more
There are nine suites and two double rooms, all with queen beds. Here the vocabulary shifts: in place of steel come carved timber, four-poster beds with mosquito nets, Asian panelling and leather armchairs. The suites were decorated around natural elements, with individual climate control, blackout curtains and high-speed wi-fi throughout.
The bathrooms continue the theme, with tubs carved from wood, bronze basins, marble surfaces and pierced metal lanterns.
The table, the bar and the cellar
The social life of the house happens at three points. The outdoor dining table sits under cover facing the forest, fitted with a wood-fired oven and a barbecue. In the indoor gourmet space, a long brass-toned counter seats up to sixteen, with low copper pendants above the surface.
Beside it, the bar is fully equipped for cocktail service and closes the wall with a backlit wine cellar that becomes the main light source of the room after dark.
Cinema, gym and the rest of the day
The private cinema has leather armchairs and a dropped ceiling with indirect lighting. The Fitness and Wellness Center brings together an equipped gym and a massage room facing the golf landscape. There is also a games room and a ping pong table for the days when nobody wants to leave.
For those who play, course access comes with a private buggy. Hole 14, a par 3 between cliffs above the Atlantic, is described by the club itself as the most photographed shot in Brazilian golf.
A staff of eight
The service structure may be what most sets Trc002 apart from other houses of similar size. Eight professionals are dedicated to the property, including a butler and a private chef. The Villas in Brazil concierge builds the itinerary around that, from dinners to excursions and wellness scheduling.
What lies around it
The house is a short walk from Golfinhos and Tartarugas beaches, and a short drive from the historic Quadrado, the cultural and dining heart of Trancoso. Among the closest restaurants are Capim Santo and UXUA, both on the square itself.
